Orders and Shipping
For orders selected as Local Pickup, you will receive an email with confirmation that your order is ready for pickup typically within 2 hours. All local pickups to be completed between 8am and 5pm.
For orders within Atlantic Canada, delivery times are estimated at 2 business days. For all other Canadian provinces, 2-4 business days is the expected delivery time.

Once your order has been shipped you will be provided with a tracking number that you can monitor. If your order was selected as Local Pickup, you will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup.

All orders will be charged Nova Scotia’s HST rate of 14%
Atlantic LED Inc offers shipping within Canada and the USA. For all orders to the USA, duties, taxes and any applicable tariffs will be the responsibility of the receiver.
Typically your order will arrive in one package. If your order must be split into multiple shipments due to size, we will advise of such via email and provide tracking for all individual shipments.
Answers to common LED questions
General Questions
All of our 24V COB LED strips are available in 2700K, 3000K, 4000K or 6500K. These numbers represent a range from yellow tone to white, 2700K being more yellow and 6500K being almost pure white.
Our line of 24V COB LED strips is cut anywhere, meaning you can actually cut it anywhere you need. No dead spots and no cutting limitations. Even more, you can solder to any point on the strip assisting with any tricky wiring situations.
Our line of 24V COB LED strips uses 12 watts per meter. It is recommended that the lighting you use does not exceed 80% of the drivers max capacity. For example, a 60 watt driver would be technically capable of powering 5 meters of lights, however it is advised to not exceed 4 meters (80%) on this driver.
Absolutely! Just make sure that you ensure that you do not exceed the amount of watts for your driver. 1 meter of our 24V COB LED lights is equal to 12 watts.
Aluminum profiles are always recommended for heat dissipation, however it is possible to install our lights without one. Our LED light strips have 528 LED’s per meter, greatly out numbering the competition. This allows our lights to remain visually dotless even without an aluminum profile.
The sensors work as an intermediary between the driver and the LED light. When the sensor is activated via touch, motion or doors opening then they allow the power to run through and illuminate the lighting. Our sensors can be drilled into the edge of cabinetry for a true built in look, or be surface mounted using the included surface mount kit.
For items using our line of plug-in drivers, our assortment of connectors allow easier and faster installation requiring less tools. For permanent built in lighting using hardwired drivers it is recommended to consult with your electrician directly.
It is not advised to exceed 5 meters (16.4ft) of our 24V COB LED strips in one continuous run as you will begin to experience voltage drop.
Answers to common LED Driver questions
LED Drivers
Add up the total wattage of all the LED lights you plan to connect to the driver, then choose a driver rated higher than that total. Leaving some extra capacity is recommended so the driver is not operating at its maximum load continuously. Atlantic LED’s lighting system uses 24V drivers with its 24V LED strips.
Yes. Multiple LED strips or lights can be connected to one driver as long as their combined wattage does not exceed the driver’s capacity. This is common for applications such as multiple cabinets or shelves powered from one location.
The driver may overload, shut down, overheat or operate unreliably. Always make sure the total connected LED load stays within the rated capacity of the driver.
Yes. A 24V LED light will only draw the amount of power it requires, so there is no problem using a driver with more wattage capacity than your lighting needs. The important part is that the voltage matches—in Atlantic LED’s system, that is always 24V.
A plug-in driver connects to a standard electrical receptacle and is usually the easiest option for DIY installations. A hardwired driver connects directly to your home’s electrical wiring and should be installed in accordance with applicable electrical requirements. Atlantic LED carries plug-in 24V drivers specifically suited to cabinet and millwork installations.
In many installations, yes. Drivers are commonly installed inside cabinets, closets or other concealed areas. Make sure the driver remains accessible and follow any clearance or ventilation requirements specified for the particular driver.
It is a good idea to avoid tightly enclosing a driver where heat cannot escape. Follow the installation requirements supplied with the driver and avoid covering it with insulation or other materials that could trap heat.
Yes, depending on how the system is configured. For example, Atlantic LED’s RF LED Dimmer installs on the 12V/24V DC side of the lighting system and allows compatible single-colour LED strips to be dimmed using an RF remote. Additionally, Atlantic LED offers a TUYA app compatible controller to allow for smartphone control.
Answers to common LED questions
LED Lights
Atlantic LED’s Cut-Anywhere COB strips can be cut anywhere along the strip, allowing you to create a very precise length without having to stop at traditional cut marks. This is especially useful for cabinetry and millwork.
Colour temperature controls how warm or cool the white light appears. 2700K provides a warm, cozy appearance, 3000K is a soft warm white, 4000K provides a cleaner natural white, and 6500K gives a much cooler, bright white appearance. Atlantic LED’s COB strips are available in these four colour temperatures. Our 24V sheet lighting is currently only available in 4000K.
Yes, LED strips can be installed directly onto suitable clean surfaces. However, installing them inside an aluminum LED profile can provide a cleaner finished appearance, protect the strip and provide a diffuser over the LEDs.
Long LED runs can experience voltage drop, causing the LEDs farther from the power source to appear dimmer. For longer installations, it may be better to divide the lighting into multiple runs or supply power at additional locations rather than powering one very long strip from only one end. Our 24V COB lighting come in 5 meter rolls which would be the maximum advisable length as a continuous run.
Yes. Two sections can be joined using a compatible LED strip connector or connected together with wire. Atlantic LED carries straight, corner and wire-lead connectors designed for its 8mm COB LED strips.
Not necessarily, but profiles are highly recommended when you want a clean, professional installation. They also allow an opal diffuser to be installed over the strip. Atlantic LED’s profiles include an aluminum profile, opal diffuser, end caps and mounting clips.
Yes. These are ideal applications for 24V COB strips. Atlantic LED’s strips are specifically marketed for cabinetry, millwork and other residential or commercial indoor installations. The current strips are IP20 and intended for dry indoor locations rather than direct exposure to water or moisture.
Our 24V COB LED strip lights are 1000-1100 lumens. The right brightness depends on how the lighting will be used. Accent lighting generally requires less output, while task lighting under kitchen cabinets or work surfaces benefits from brighter lighting. Also consider the distance between the LEDs and the surface being illuminated and whether an opal diffuser is being used. To control the brightness, one of our dimmer controllers can be used in combination with a remote control.
Answers to common LED connector questions
LED Connectors
It depends on what you’re trying to connect. A straight connector joins two strips end-to-end, an L-shaped connector makes a 90° corner, and a connector with a wire lead allows you to connect a strip to wire, a sensor, driver or another component. Atlantic LED’s strip connectors are designed around its 8mm COB strips.
You don’t necessarily need to solder. Compatible solderless connectors can make installation much easier for DIY projects. Atlantic LED’s 8mm COB connectors allow strips and wires to be connected without soldering.
For two pieces positioned directly beside one another, use a straight strip-to-strip connector or 9-in1 connector. Insert each strip into the connector, making sure the positive and negative contacts are properly aligned.
You can use an L-shaped LED strip connector for a clean 90° corner or use two strip-to-wire connectors with a short piece of wire between them when more flexibility is required. Atlantic LED carries an L-shaped connector specifically for joining two strips at a corner.
Use wire between the two sections. Connect the first LED strip to wire and then connect the wire to the next strip. Atlantic LED also carries pre-made extensions, including a 2-metre extension that connects directly to an 8mm COB strip.
You can use a compatible strip-to-wire connector or one of Atlantic LED’s pre-made extensions. For example, the 2-metre Male-to-8mm COB extension has a 2-pin connector for compatible Atlantic LED drivers on one end and an 8mm COB strip connector on the other.
Yes. Low-voltage wire can generally be shortened or extended as needed. When extending it, use properly sized wire and suitable connectors, and remember that excessively long wire runs can cause voltage drop.
Always match positive (+) to positive (24+) and negative (–) to negative (GND) throughout the system. Reversing the polarity will normally prevent the LED strip from lighting. Check the markings on the strip, connector and driver before making the connection.
Answers to common LED Sensor questions
LED Sensors
It depends on how you want the lights to operate. Door sensors are ideal for cabinets and closets, motion sensors automatically detect movement, hand-wave sensors provide touch-free switching, and touch sensors allow the light to be controlled by touching the sensor. Atlantic LED currently offers all of these options for its 24V lighting system.
A door sensor detects whether the cabinet or closet door is open or closed. When the door opens, the sensor turns the lights on. Closing the door turns them back off, making it ideal for closets, cabinets and display units.
A double-door sensor is designed specifically for this application. It can monitor two cabinet doors so that opening either door can activate the lighting. Atlantic LED’s Double Door LED Cabinet Sensor is designed for its 24V drivers and strips.
Simply wave your hand in front of the sensor to turn the lights on, then wave again to turn them off. It provides a convenient touch-free switch that’s useful under cabinets, in kitchens and in millwork.
The sensor is typically installed on the low-voltage side of the system, between the 24V driver and the LED lights:
120V power → 24V driver → sensor → LED light
Atlantic LED’s sensors are designed to work with its drivers and LED strips.
Yes, provided the combined lighting load stays within the sensor’s rated capacity. For example, Atlantic LED’s Double Door Sensor is rated for up to 100W at 24V. Keep in mind that any lights attached to the same sensor become a group which may not be the desired intention.
The required distance varies depending on the type of sensor. Door, motion and hand-wave sensors use different detection methods, so the sensor should be positioned according to the instructions for that particular model.
In many installations you can, but both devices need to be compatible with the lighting system and installed in the correct order. Contact us if you’re unsure about a particular combination and we can help determine the best setup.
